Learning Outcome(s)	3.0 Language For Aesthetic Use. 3.1 Listen to, read and respond to literary works by: (a) understanding and telling in one's own words the story heard and read and giving one's opinion of the text.
Specific Objective(s)	B y the end of the lesson, students should be able to: Understand the elements of the novel. Identify the characters in the story.
Activities	Teacher talks about the elements of the novel to students. Teacher shows the cover of the novel to elicit responses from students. Students list the characters in the story. Students attempt the exercises in the worksheet given. Class discussion.

Reflection	Students still need time to know the characters in the novel as there were around 80% of them have not finished reading the text.

Specific Objective(s)	By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: Identify a few characters in the novel. Know the storyline in Chapter One by arranging the events given in a correct order.
Activities	Teacher presents the topic of the lesson. Teacher elicits responses from students. Students copy the notes on the blackboard. Students answer the questions given. Class discussion.

Reflection	The students needed the teacher to guide them to answer the questions. They still need time to know the characters in chapter One.

Topic	Formal letter: Letter of Complaint
Learning Outcome(s)	2.3 Present information to the different audiences by: a. writing letters
Specific Objective(s)	By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: - write a letter of complaint using the notes given.
Activities	Teacher presents the topic of the lesson. Students are given the handouts. Teacher asks students to talk about the notes in the task given. Students tell the complaints and the features of the letter. Students are asked to rearrange the paragraphs into order to form a complete letter. Students are asked to write the letter in the correct format.

Activities	Teacher presents the topic of the lesson. Teacher elicits responses from students on the topic given. Students are given the handouts. They read and understand the task. Students are asked to discuss the problem raised in the task given. Students present their opinions and suggestions. Teacher asks students to write a letter of complaint.
