By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

- understand the format of a formal letter.

- know how marks are awarded for Paper 1

Activities

  1. Teacher returns the test papers.
  2. Teacher carries out a class discussion.
  3. Teacher writes the main points on the blackboard.
  4. Students copy the main points and do the corrections.

The students were not ready for the test. They performed badly. Only around 30% of the students were able to write the format of a formal letter correctly.

5K8 – Dissatisfactory feedback. The students were quite blurred with the questions given in the test paper.

5K3 – Satisfactory feedback. The students managed to follow the discussion by giving appropriate responses.

By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

  1. Revise the chapters learnt by describing the story in one own words according to the pictures shown in a chronological order.
  2. Complete the exercise given.

Activities

  1. Teacher distributes the handout of notes to the students.
  2. Teacher shows the pictures to the students.
  3. Students revise the plot of the story.
  4. Students complete the exercise given.
  5. Class discussion (discuss the moral values in the novel)
